The Cho-Yeh Counselor:
Working at Camp Cho-Yeh will be one of the most amazing and rewarding summers of your life! Cho-Yeh is a place where relationships are built and lives are impacted in a Christ-centered environment. Everything we do at Cho-Yeh revolves around building relationships. Your primary responsibility as a counselor is to build a relationship with your campers and love on them with the unconditional love of Jesus Christ. You will serve as the hands and feet of Jesus as you connect with your campers one-on-one.
Each summer, boys and girls aged 6 - 16 attend one or two-week sessions and/or specialty camps such as Christian Leadership Training or Kamp K'aana. All the events, programs and activities that our campers participate in are designed to develop self-confidence, independence, and relational skills. As a counselor, you will have many responsibilities:
- Live in a cabin with 8-15 campers and one or two co-counselors.
- Monitor the health and safety of your campers
- Lead cabin devos each night
- Teach or assist activities
- Keep leadership up to date about the overall cabin life, camper situations, and needs of the campers
- Provide encouragement and accountability for fellow staff
- Accompany campers at all times
- BUT MOST OF ALL, showing our campers what it means to live a life that is passionate about following Jesus Christ.
