Food at Camp Cho-Yeh
Camp Cho-Yeh features a 10,000 square foot dining facility that will seat 475 people at full capacity and is handicap accessible. It is equipped with two serving lines, two beverage stations, a salad bar, and an industrial style kitchen. The Dining Hall sits at the top of the hill overlooking beautiful Lake Evelyn and is centrally located in camp, which lends itself to easy access from any of our three campsites.
Cho-Yeh serves a wide variety of meals that are well-balanced, camper-friendly, and nutritious. Breakfast and dinner are served through our serving lines and lunch is served family style. Family style lunch is a fun experience that we hope for our campers to take home to their families.
Meals are served on a two-week rotation, so campers won't eat the same meal twice. At Cho-Yeh, we do not serve carbonated beverages in the Dining Hall at any meal. In addition to meals, we offer peanut butter and jelly and fresh fruit. A salad bar is also available at lunch and dinner.
Cho-Yeh works closely with parents of campers with food allergies to provide tasty alternatives to ensure a positive dining experience during their time at camp. Please be sure to note any food allergies on the Medical Form and notify Cho-Yeh at least one week prior to your child's camp session. We will connect you with our food service director to review the menu and make sure accommodations are made to meet your child's needs. Often times, parents of children with gluten allergies need to provide supplemental food that our staff can prepare.
Here's a sample menu of a day in the Dining Hall to help answer the age-old question of "What's for dinner?"

Theme meals are a big part of evening programming at Camp Cho-Yeh. On cookout nights, burgers are cooked over a pit grill with s'mores to follow! This year, Cho-Yeh is bringing back the County Fair Picnic! We will feature grilled favorites such as burgers, chicken, sausage, and veggies! Not a fan of burgers? There's always the option for a peanut butter and jelly sandwich or grilled cheese on cookout nights.
Wednesday mornings are also a BIG hit with everyone when Work Crew presents "Special Breakfast!" Campers are met at the door by costumed staff members and are escorted to their tables where they receive an awesome meal and never have to leave their seat! This meal includes homemade pancakes, hot syrup, hash browns with ham bits and grilled onions, shredded cheese, fresh fruit, milk, orange or apple juice, cereal, toast, fresh fruit smoothies, and yogurt.
