A Place to Belong: Ethan’s Story

Ethan’s parents first started looking into Summer Camp because they wanted to help their son become more active. As a result of their search, they found Cho-Yeh. However, their finances wouldn’t allow for their two sons to experience Cho-Yeh without assistance.

They wanted their sons to have Christian influences and to have the camaraderie of the Alpha and Omega tribes at Camp, and thankfully the scholarship program made this possible.

“It has been a blessing to come to Camp on scholarship because I wouldn’t be able to come without it.”-Ethan, 7 year camper

Ethan and his brother went to Camp that first summer and fell in love with it. Summer 2019 marked their 7th summer at Cho-Yeh.

Ethan’s years at Camp have helped shape him into the young man he is today. His favorite activity at Camp is the AO showdown, but his absolute favorite part of camp is getting closer to God.

“Camp taught me to be humble and allowed time for reflection. I also learned to be more patient and respectful by coming to Camp.”

The biblical truths that he has learned during his years at Camp have helped him to grow in his walk with Christ. This past summer, he learned that “no matter how many times you mess up, God will always love you and forgive you.”

“Thank you for having scholarships for campers like me. I am so thankful that I get to experience the joy of Camp and grow closer to God each summer.”-Ethan
