Cho-Yeh’s COVID Preparedness Update

Dear Friend,

Session 1 begins in just 3 days!  Our incredible summer staff is trained, healthy, and excited for your camper to arrive!  We know that now, more than ever, our kids need to have fun outside, hang out with friends & be encouraged to grow in their faith.  We also recognize that COVID-19 may be at the front of your mind as you prepare to send your child to Camp Cho-Yeh.  We are committed to transparent and consistent communication with you as we navigate this season together.

We continue to review and enhance our strategies for mitigating the risk of a wide-spread outbreak of COVID-19 at Camp this summer, and are thrilled to announce that we’ve not seen evidence of the virus in our summer staff these last 3 weeks.  We are thankful for your prayers throughout this unprecedented journey.

Given the outdoor nature of summer camp, Governor Abbott’s new executive order regarding mandatory masks will have little to no impact on our program.  Campers will spend the vast majority of their day enjoying outdoor activities, swimming in the lake or pool & eating delicious food.  As a reminder we are providing clean buffs to our campers and staff everyday.  As indicated in the Governor’s executive order, these buffs will not need to be worn as masks during outdoor activities, swimming, eating, or anytime they are just with their cabinmates or cohorts.  Their cabin groups are considered “households.”

As COVID-19 statistics continue to climb in our region, we remain confident in our ability to provide a quality program.  Of course, we cannot eliminate the risk of exposure or guarantee that some campers won’t get sick, however, we will maintain an open dialog with you about the overall health of our camper population.  As always, the safety of our campers and guests is a top priority at Camp Cho-Yeh.

Please continue praying for the health and safety of campers and staff; specifically that COVID-19 would not impact the ability to do ministry in Summer 2020. We are expecting that God will move in powerful ways in the lives of our campers this summer.
