One Interesting Fact about Me: I have been at Camp Cho-Yeh for the past 5 Summers. For my first two Summers I was a camper and I always came home feeling more on fire for Christ than ever before. My third year I went on CLT which opened my eyes to the true beauty of the Lord’s works and I felt incredibly called to continue in ministry. My fourth year I was on work crew, where I truly learned to open my heart and die to self in order to give others an incredible camp experience. This past summer, I worked as a counselor which was an incredible experience where I was able to pour into kids as they unknowingly helped me grow as a Christian leader.
Why did you sign-up for Compass? I chose to do Compass because as I was preparing to finish high school I realized I had no idea what I wanted to do. I hadn’t applied to many colleges and even if I had, there was a lot of doubt about leaving straight to college after I graduated. I felt lost in what I was being called to do, when I heard of the gap year program I immediately felt that it would be a safe place for me to grow stronger in my faith as well as push me forward in getting an idea of what I wanted to do with my life later on.
This time next year what do you want to say about your Gap Year Experience?I would love to confidently be able to say that because of this gap year program I am stronger and more knowledgeable in my faith. Apart from my faith I would like to say that during this nine-month period I grew in my confidence and learned new life skills that will help lead me on throughout my future.
