When you look inside the kitchen at Cho-Yeh, you will see a new addition preparing delicious foods. Beau Moore recently joined our dining team as our Executive Chef. Beau is a vital addition to the team that our dining services Director, Ed Huck, has built. Beau relocated to Livingston from California and he is passionate about taking Cho-Yeh’s dining experience to new heights.
Beau and his family felt a calling to move to Texas but they weren’t sure where or what that looked like. He has known Ed Huck for years, so there was an interest when this position opened. When he visited Camp and heard the vision of the ministry, he knew without a doubt that the Lord was calling him here.
Beau has spent over 20 years in the culinary industry, he has done everything from fine dining to being a culinary instructor. He grew up working in camp kitchens and believes that “just because it’s camp there’s no reason that it shouldn’t be as good as going to a restaurant for a meal.” He is passionate about cooking from scratch while using the highest quality and freshest ingredients possible.
Beau’s vision for quality food service matched Ed’s vision of becoming the food service leader in Christian camping throughout Texas. He wants to develop a certified culinary program for externships and internships so people working in the kitchen at camp can develop their skills and pursue their passion for cooking in a safe, fun, and God-centered environment. Beau desires to develop his staff inside and outside of the kitchen so they are well-equipped for the workplace.
Beau is 32 years old, has a wonderful wife and 5 children. He has a heart and passion for the Lord as well as the culinary industry. He loves the outdoors, camping, fishing, and hunting.
