Before coming to Cho-Yeh as a camper last summer, Bryleigh’s peers would have described her as reserved and shy. School was an environment where she didn’t feel comfortable being herself or speaking up, but then camp happened. After Bryleigh spent a week at Cho-Yeh last summer she learned to overcome her fears and to be herself, even in new situations. The confidence and independence she gained through making new friends and conquering fears changed her. People who meet her now are shocked to learn she used to be shy because she has learned how to express herself and be confident in who she is. Bryleigh’s Mom also loves the way Cho-Yeh has cultivated faith and forged character within her daughter, “It makes me so happy that they have so much fun, learn some independence and most importantly grow closer to Christ.”
Bryleigh’s time at camp taught her to trust the Lord in all situations. The first time she went on the Giant Swing she was terrified. As she was going up in the air, a peace came over her because she reminded herself that the Lord would catch her if she were to fall. In this instance a harness would catch her, but she learned to put her trust in the Lord in every situation she encounters. Learning to trust the Lord when she was outside of her comfort zone has changed the way she approaches life throughout the rest of the year. She trusts in the Lord in every aspect of her life now, not just when she is afraid.
Bryleigh is coming back this summer because she loves being able to spend an entire week worshipping God and having fun with such an amazing group of people. She grew so much last year at camp and she can’t wait to see whats in store for this summer!
